Payment & Billing Policy

Last updated: February 2025

This Payment & Billing Policy explains how payments, subscriptions, licenses, upgrades, refunds, and renewals are handled for our SaaS product (the “Service”). By purchasing or using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Pricing & Plans

  • All prices are listed on our website or within the application and are subject to change at any time.
  • Prices do not include applicable taxes, duties, or levies unless explicitly stated.
  • We may offer different plans, including monthly, annual, lifetime, or prorated licenses, each with specific terms.

2. Payment Terms

  • Payments must be made in full at the time of purchase.
  • We accept payment methods made available at checkout (e.g., credit/debit cards, online payment gateways).
  • Failure to complete payment may result in delayed activation or suspension of the Service.

3. Subscriptions & Renewals

  • Subscription plans (monthly or annual) renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.
  • You are responsible for managing your subscription and keeping your payment details up to date.
  • Renewal charges will be billed to the payment method on file at the applicable rate at the time of renewal.

4. Prorated Licenses

  • A prorated license is issued when you purchase or change plans partway through a billing cycle or promotional period.
  • Prorated pricing reflects partial access for a defined period and is calculated based on the remaining time or scope of the license.

4.1 Upgrade Restriction on Prorated Licenses

  • Prorated licenses are eligible for upgrades only within the first 30 days from the original purchase date.
  • If the prorated license is outside of the 30-day window, upgrades to higher plans or licenses are not permitted.
  • After the 30-day period, you may purchase a new full license or wait until the license expires and then select a new plan.
  • This restriction applies regardless of promotional pricing, discounts, or special offers.

4.1.1 Example

  • If a user purchased a single-site lifetime pro license for $300 and after 3 days upgrades to a 5-site lifetime pro license for $600, they are only charged $300 for the upgrade.
  • If a user purchased a single-site lifetime starter license for $150 and after 6 days upgrades to a single-site lifetime business plan for $400, they are only charged $250 for the upgrade.
  • If a user purchased a single-site lifetime pro license for $300 and after 2 months upgrades to a 5-site lifetime pro plan for $600, they are charged the full $600.
  • To understand why lifetime upgrades aren’t just calculated as the difference in price, regardless of how long ago the original purchase was, the following two scenarios may help:
    • 1. A customer purchases a lifetime license for $300. Then, after 5 years (intentionally exaggerated time for emphasis) decides to upgrade for a higher $500 plan. If you discount them with $300 it basically means that they’ve used your product/license/support for free for 5 years. If a different customer purchase that same lifetime plan for $500 at the same time the other user upgrades from the $300 to the $500 plan, they both end up paying the exact same amount in total ($500), yet, the 1st customer already been using the product for 5 years.
    • 2. Or another example, to drive it home (pun intended!). Let’s say you buy a car and then after 5 years decide to buy a more expensive one from the same brand. Would you expect to get your money back? No, because you’ve already used the product, which is analogous to receiving support (aka warranty).

5. Upgrades & Downgrades

  • Upgrades (where permitted) take effect immediately unless otherwise stated.
  • Downgrades typically take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Any limitations on upgrades or downgrades (including those related to prorated licenses) will override general upgrade rules.

6. Refund Policy

  • All purchases are non-refundable unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.
  • Refunds, if approved, are issued at our sole discretion and may be subject to processing fees.
  • Usage of the Service during a billing period may void eligibility for refunds.

7. Failed Payments

  • If a payment fails, we may retry the charge using the payment method on file.
  • Continued payment failure may result in suspension or termination of access to the Service.

8. Taxes

  • You are responsible for any applicable taxes associated with your purchase, except where we are required by law to collect them.

9. Changes to This Policy

  • We reserve the right to update or modify this Payment & Billing Policy at any time.
  • Changes will be effective upon posting on our website or within the Service.
  • Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
